The general public will very soon be able to reserve a slot to visit Notre-Dame de for free, five years after the fire which ravaged the cathedral. Ticket sales kick off this Tuesday, December 3.

The schedule has yet to be defined but the day is now known: this Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the diocese of Paris is opening a ticket office to regulate the flow of visitors wishing to discover the restored Notre-Dame.

This ticketing is set up on the official website of Notre-Dame Cathedral, underlines in particular The Parisian.

Anyone can log in to reserve a 30-minute slot. Once the reservation has been made, a digital ticket will be sent by email. Depending on the crowd, a virtual queue could be set up, notes TF1.

The diocese has also launched a new mobile application for free download to reserve a visit slot on iOS and Android, specifies The Parisian. Baptized “Notre-Dame de Paris”it is intended to be easy to use and for the general public.

Please note, reservation is not obligatory but strongly recommended. Visitors who already have a ticket will be certain of being able to enter, “with reduced waiting time”. First availability

The first availability to visit will be on Sunday December 8 2024 at 5:30 p.m. will close at 8 p.m. that day.

Between the December 8 and 15the building will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Mornings will be reserved for religious services and highlights. And after December 16?

From Monday December 16, 2024the usual opening hours, from 7:45 a.m. to 7 p.m., will be put back in place. It will normally no longer be necessary to reserve a slot.

Before the devastating fire of April 2019, Notre-Dame welcomed 12 million visitors each year. A figure which made this monument the most visited cultural site in the capital, ahead of the Louvre Museum. With its restoration, 15 million annual visitors are expected, according to Archbishop Laurent Ulrich, cited by the public service channel.
