VIDEO – This Sunday, December 1, in Sept à Huit, Émilie Dequenne revealed that she was the victim of a recurrence of her cancer. A fight that she decided to fight by restarting chemotherapy.

In a new issue of the show Seven to Eightthis Sunday, December 1, Audrey Crespo-Mara received the Belgian actress Émilie Dequenne. The one who was revealed in 1999 in the drama Rosetta was thus able to return to many personal subjects, including her fierce fight against cancer. As a reminder, Milla's mother announced in October 2023 that she had adrenocorticaloma, a cancer of the adrenal gland located above the kidney. An illness she described as “very rare”but also “agressive” et “recidivist”.

“I saw my doctor to check the progress of the treatment and it turns out that, unfortunately, it is not progressing well. There is a part of my cancer which responds to it and another which does not respond to it, even which progresses”, she declared in Seven to Eightannouncing a terrible relapse. Facing Audrey Crespo-Mara, Émilie Dequenne then explained that she had had to start treatment again, stronger than the previous one. “Here I go again for the chemo that I went through a little over a year ago, with even a small dose in addition of something new which, it seems, will surprise the tumor”she continued, moved.

During this interview, Émilie Dequenne explained that her new treatment required hospitalization “for five days every three weeks”. “I’m going to lose my hair again.”she regretted. After more than a year of fighting the disease, Émilie Dequenne remains realistic and knows that she will never be able to completely recover. “We only talk about remission. We never talk about cure and we never will talk about it”she concluded.
