The frenzy of success had repercussions on the sentimental life of Baptiste Lecaplain. The comedian revealed in A Sunday in the Country that he shared three months of his life with a mistress, pulling out all the stops to win back the woman of his life.
He couldn't wait to find Frédéric Lopez and the cocoon of this break in the countryside. After a first weekend away from the tumult of Paris, Baptiste Lecaplain picked up his backpack to settle in this haven of peace, in the company of his Sunday roommates, the very expressive Audrey Dana and Louis Chedid. And even warned by the emotions that this exercise can arouse, the comedian put both feet in it. The first time, in the attic, when his classmates praised the courage he showed during a disorderly childhood. Then when he confided in the birth of his daughter. “I will love her all my life, even if she can do the worst things to me.” he promised, in tears, in front of witnesses.
On the other hand, the Norman was much less boastful at brunch, when he talked about the repercussions of his emerging notoriety on his love life. “The rooms are full, people are looking at you and suddenly, very pretty girls are looking at you. And I hadn't known anyone else apart from my partner at the time so I knew that at some point…”, he contextualized, before revealing that he had given up. “I actually meet someone and I have a double life for three months. When I decide to stop with my mistress – because I had a mistress, it must be said – she finds out the next day and she leaves me“, rewinds the inveterate fan of Virginie Ledoyen.
A reconquest that begins with “a terrible humiliation”
What follows is a reconquest operation which begins with a meeting organized in a bar, according to the wishes of his manager. Baptiste Lecaplain remembers this scene: “I see my ex outside, his eyes cold. And it’s going very badly. She tells me that if I want her back, I'll call this girl. But when I tell him it's over, he starts screaming. I who don't like to be noticed, it's horrible, it's a terrible humiliation“. It is finally on stage, and seven years later, that the troublemaker will make his most beautiful declaration of love during a sketch dedicated to this episode. His sweetheart will appreciate the gesture because she has already forgiven him for this gap.
