Max Verstappen won the Qatar Grand Prix, the best way for him to celebrate with great fanfare his fourth world title obtained last week in Las Vegas. The Dutchman held off Lando Norris, who was then penalized for failing to respect a yellow flag. The Briton pays a heavy price since Charles Leclerc's second place allows him to move back to just eight points in the fight for the honorary title of vice-world champion.

The major challenge remains the fight for the manufacturers' world title. While McLaren has long given the feeling of getting closer to the Holy Grail, the setbacks of Lando Norris have benefited Ferrari, which thus pushes the deadline to the last Grand Prix of the season, next week in Abu Dhabi. The Scuderia takes three small points from the Woking team, which still has a nice margin of 21 units which, on a regular basis, should be enough.

Mathematically, Red Bull is definitely out of the race and will therefore lose its crown, while Alpine made the great operation of the day thanks to Pierre Gasly in the fight for sixth place. At the bottom of the ranking, Stake finally opens its counter thanks to the four points scored by Zhou Guanyu.
