Antoine Griezmann had a great match with Atlético de Madrid in Valladolid (5-0) and notably scored a splendid goal.

After the unexpected defeat of FC Barcelona in Las Palmas (1-2) in the afternoon, Atlético de Madrid did the job in the evening and took the opportunity to come back to two lengths of the lead in La Liga. In good spirits recently after a delicate period in October, the Madrid club won again in a big way, four days after its great success on the field of Sparta Prague (6-0) in the Champions League. This time, he won in Valladolid with a score of 5-0. A victory marked by the imprint of Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann involved in 3 goals

If another Frenchman stood out by opening the score – Clément Lenglet with a left foot in the 26th minute – the striker was involved in the next 3 goals. In the 35th minute, “Grizou”, who celebrated his 100th in the Champions League in the Czech Republic, saw his right-footed shot repelled by the opposing goalkeeper and Julian Alvarez, his attacking partner in the 4-4- 2 set up by Diego Simeone, scored. Two minutes later, behind a cross from Javi Galan, Atlético's number 7 faded away, which benefited Rodrigo De Paul, author of the 3-0. Then came Griezmann's masterpiece…

What a “Grizou” sequence!

We then played the 51st minute in Valladolid. After a pass on the right side from Giuliano Simeone, the man who retired internationally on September 30 performed a one-two with Alvarez, signed a magnificent pivot wheel control in the penalty area before turning around and slipping a subtle outside of the unstoppable left foot cross to beat Karl Hein again. Under the spell of this marvelous sequence, the spectators at the José-Zorrilla stadium gave a splendid ovation to the French striker, author of his 5th goal in the league this season (he also delivered 4 assists). Alexander Sorloth added a 5th goal in added time to sign a victory (5-0). Atlético is provisionally 2nd before the trip to Getafe of Real Madrid who can double it in the event of a victory and come back to within a small point of Barça (with a late match to be played soon in Valencia).
