Viktor Verhulst and his girlfriend Sarah Puttemans have been an indispensable part of the screen since the new season of De Verhulstjes. It is Sarah’s first time in the popular reality series, and she has already managed to conquer many hearts. Viktor recently looked back on their special trip to Japan in his podcast Vik & Gert.

Viktor and Sarah moved with her family to Japan, a country that impressed with its unique culture and lifestyle. “It was a really pleasant experience,” says Viktor. “I ate a lot of sushi there, but also a lot of meat. Although it is rice every day.”

The journey to the land of the rising sun brought more than just culinary discoveries. Viktor was especially impressed by the organization in Japan. “The trains always leave on time, everything is clean, and even along the way there is a cleaning crew to keep everything tidy. You also have a lot more space there than with us.”

A striking moment

However, not everything went smoothly during the trip. Viktor confessed that he and his group accidentally drove while black on the train. “We had missed our train tickets and thought it wouldn’t be too bad, because there had never been any checks before. But of course this time,” Viktor laughs. “We got a warning, and they couldn’t laugh at it at all.”
