GUNTHER retains world title after Finn Balor takes out Damian Priest at Survivor Series

Dating back to April 2022, GUNTHER was 43-3 in singles matches coming into this evening. That was a statistic WWE put up in a graphic on the screen as he was making his entrance for his world heavyweight title defense against Damian Priest at tonight’s (Sat., Nov. 30, 2024) Survivor Series premium live event at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Make it 44-3.

Priest did well enough in the match, better than most in similar situations, but he hurt his shoulder and it became a focal point. When it came time to get GUNTHER up for the Razor’s Edge, he couldn’t deliver on it due to said shoulder. The second time he went for it, he managed to get it but he couldn’t hook the leg, and GUNTHER kicked out.

Priest missed South of Heaven, and GUNTHER worked a kimura with the champion twisting up the challenger’s entire body. Even then, a rope break. Priest fought like hell to fend off GUNTHER, but eventually found himself laid out on the outside and none other than Finn Balor showed up to hit the Coup de Grace.

GUNTHER took him out on the outside before going back in the ring to hit a powerbomb into a sleeper for the finish.

That damn Balor did it again.
