Arsenal is coming off a defeat over Nottingham Forest 3-0 behind goals by Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey, and Ethan Nwaneri. But before that, the Gunners had drawn 1-1 with arch-rival Chelsea, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring in that outing, and fallen 1-0 against Newcastle United. With the top teams in the Premier League performing at such a high level, a result on Saturday will be vital for Arsenal and its title hopes this year.

Arsenal currently sits fourth on the Premier League table with 22 points in 12 matches, behind Liverpool (31 points), Manchester City (23 points) and Chelsea (22 points but ahead on goal differential). That would qualify the Gunners for a Champions League spot next season but for a club that entered 2024-25 with Premier League title expectations, that won’t be enough to satisfy the fanbase.
West Ham United, meanwhile, is currently sitting 14th on the Premier League table with 15 points in 12 matches with four wins, three draws and five losses. West Ham has a minus-four goal differential this season and is only sitting six points above a relegation spot, so positive results will be important for the club going forward.
