RB Leipzig got off to a terrible start in the Bundesliga game on matchday 12. Coach Marco Rose’s team was already 3-0 behind against VfL Wolfsburg after just over a quarter of an hour.
Mohamed Amoura opened the scoring for the visitors in the 4th minute after a nice combination from close range. Just a minute later, Tiago Tomas followed up with a deflected shot from around 20 meters away from the goal.
Wolves striker Amoura (16th) scored the third goal by tunneling through RB goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi from an acute angle. “Here we also have to talk about Gulacsi, that’s clear,” criticized Sky-Commentator Torsten Kunde the Leipzig goalkeeper.
Afterwards, the hosts recovered somewhat, allowed a few great chances, but were able to prevent further goals. It went into the break 0-3. The half-time whistle was followed by a whistle concert from the RB fans.
If Leipzig can’t turn the game around, the air will probably get thin for Rose. The coach has been criticized in the wake of the negative series of the past few weeks.
The Bulls have been waiting for a win in the Bundesliga for three games, two of which were lost. In the Champions League, Leipzig still doesn’t have a point after five matchdays.
Things went excellently in the early stages of the season. The defense in particular shone. Apart from SC Freiburg, no team managed an away goal in Leipzig – before Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Wolfsburg came.
Before the game, Rose had spoken about the crisis in results Sky emphasizes: “Life is actually simple. Football is even easier. If you walk through the world with your eyes open, you know that the issues we have are much smaller at the moment. We know what kind of constellation we have, where we stand, what we can do, what we may not be doing so well at the moment. Now it’s about us standing together and working our way out of this together. It can be that simple.”
