Two days after being accused of sexual harassment, singer Slimane was present at the NRJ Music Awards. An essential participation, as a “television programmer” revealed to the Parisian.
Nothing is going well for the singer Slimane. At the end of October, the Parisian revealed that a sexual harassment complaint had been filed against him by a technician from his Cupidon Tour. The facts allegedly occurred in December 2023, after a concert in Saint-Etienne. This man said the singer would have “stuck against a wall”, for him “impose a hug”. “Say, you're good.”Slimane would have whispered in his ear, before placing his “erect penis between her buttocks”. The musician's brother reportedly intervened to stop him, but Slimane later continued by sending dozens of text messages to the alleged victim. A scene which would have been filmed and which would have led to the opening of a second investigation, for “sexual assault and attempted sexual assault”.
Since the start of this affair, Slimane has never reacted publicly to the facts with which he is accused. However, he was present in Cannes two days later, for the NRJ Music Awards ceremony. After performing its title My love on the stage of the Palais des Festivals, the musician spoke when he received the prize for male artist of the year. In tears, he declared soberly: “I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart, this one has a special taste. My daughter, when you grow up, I really hope that you will be proud of your dad, I love you. Sincerely, my audience, thank you from the bottom of my heart… Thank you very much”.
Why did Slimane’s presence at NRJ Music Awards was essential
While artists kick in when it comes to mentioning Slimane, like Vitaa or even Lara Fabian, who collaborated with him on her very last album, the world of television no longer invites him. This is particularly the case of The Secret Boxwhere he was not invited to the filming to surprise Lara Fabian. “It would have been weird if he were there”, confided a source from Faustine Bollaert’s show to Parisian.
But then, why was he present at the NRJ Music Awards, just two days after the controversy broke out in the press? “We can't say he's blacklisted, but no one talks about him. We are not offered it, but we are not asked for it either. The NRJ Music Awards were special. He was named and he had to go because his absence would have vindicated his accusers”, confided to our colleagues a “television programmer”. An exception, therefore, in this media storm.
