Tom Waes was seriously injured on Friday night in an accident with his classic car. The TV presenter and actor was busy recording for a new season of Reizen Waes and the fiction series Badgast. It is currently unclear what the impact of the accident will be on productions. “His recovery is a priority,” VRT said.

Tom Waes was in the middle of a busy recording period. The recordings for the fiction series Bath guest on Terschelling were already ready, but the rest still had to be shot. The new season of Travel Waes on VRT would normally start on February 2. VRT has heard that it is still too early to map out the impact of the accident on productions. “His recovery is a priority,” it said.
The story of Bath guest is set on the island of Terschelling, in the north of the Netherlands, and is about divorced father Vince (Tom Waes) and his teenage daughter Zoë (Freya Van Campenhout) who go on holiday together for the first time in a long time. But the two are not exactly welcomed with open arms and there are also a lot of mutual problems between father and daughter.
Bath guest is a co-production of VRT and the Dutch KRO-NCRV. The series is directed by Filip Lenaerts (known from Tytgat chocolate in The story of Flanders) and Sander Brants. Scenarios are by Mathias Claeys (known from Own cultivation, Sense of tumor), Luuk van Bemmelen and Sophie Jans.
