Last Monday, Morgane Rivoal, 13, disappeared after leaving the family home in Pabu (Côtes-d'Armor), near Guingamp.
A call for witnesses has since been launched and beats have been organized.
Five days after her disappearance, the teenager remains nowhere to be found.
It’s a matter that has grown over the days. Last Monday, Morgane Rivoal, 13, left her parents' house in Pabu in Côtes-d'Armor to go to college. The teenager never went to class that day.
A few hours later, he was reported missing to authorities. A call for witnesses was launched immediately and was widely relayed the same day and in the days that followed. At the same time, numerous searches, mobilizing significant resources, were carried out to try to find the young girl. But five days later, neither her family nor those close to her have heard from her. TF1info takes stock of this investigation.
A disappearance reported Monday November 25 at 11:40 a.m.
It was Aurore Rivoal, the teenager's mother, who reported her disappearance Monday morning at 11:40 a.m. to the Guingamp gendarmerie. An alert launched after learning around 9:30 a.m. from the school that the latter had never been to the Albert Camus college in Graces, where she attends school.
Morgane Rivoal left the house on Monday, November 25 around 7:15 a.m. She usually takes the bus to reach her establishment, located just over five kilometers from Pabu, where she lives with her family. That day, his parents, busy getting ready, did not see him leave the house, but told investigators that their daughter had told them “Goodbye” as usual.
Aurore Rivoal thought she would see her daughter again in the evening at home, like every day after school. “We had a parent-teacher meeting. So, I told her: 'Don't forget to have a snack'. She said to me: 'No worries, kisses, see you this evening'”, the mother reported this Friday on TF1. But the girl will not return.
According to the teenager's parents, Morgane Rivoal left without money or a bank card and would not have taken any business with her.
An open investigation and extensive research
An investigation was opened into the worrying disappearance after this report. This was entrusted to the research brigade of the Guingamp gendarmerie company, reinforced by all the company's gendarmes, but also by soldiers from the Rennes research section. On Monday, a source close to the matter spoke to our editorial team “a runaway” but the worry, after such a long absence, grew.
“A large number of human and technical resources were employed by the soldiers of the gendarmerie. Two dogs from the gendarmerie were also used. The two dogs took the trail from the home to the Castel Pic district in Guingamp where they lost the Nautical means, divers, were also hired to probe the Le Trieux river, from the spillway, located in the center of the town to the former Plouizy sewage treatment plant. watercourse near the home, as well as a water point in the commune of Pabu”, details this Friday the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, Nicolas Heitz.
A helicopter from the Rennes aerial section was deployed on several occasions and searches on foot, by bicycle and by vehicle were carried out by the gendarmes.
Several hunts during the week
During the week, several hunts were also organized by the military. This Friday, many citizen volunteers took part, in the Guingamp, Pabu and Pommerit-le-Vicomte sectors, in the presence of Morgane's parents. “There were between 700 and 800 people, sometimes coming from very far away. There are no words to thank all these people enough,” Morgane's father told TF1info this Friday at the end of the day.
A little earlier, the teenager's mother had not hidden her emotion on our antenna. Facing the camera, she could not hold back her tears while saying these words:“Morgan, come back to us! Give us something because we can't take it anymore. We really want you to come back.”
Every day since Monday, Aurore Rivoal has appealed to her daughter on Facebook to come back.
An argument about social media, a broken phone
During the investigations, searches were carried out at the family home and other people with whom Morgane was in contact. All proved unsuccessful. The family and friends were naturally heard.
From these hearings it could be established that a “dispute arose with her parents during the weekend relating in particular to Morgane's use of social networks”, revealed this Friday the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, Nicolas Heitz.“A heated discussion ensued with her parents during which her father broke his daughter’s cell phone and took her SIM card,” he adds.
During the day of Sunday, November 24, Morgane stayed at home with her young brothers and sisters. His father worked afternoons and evenings outside the home. “Morgane’s friends are all heard, methodically, one after the other”informs Nicolas Heitz.
A teenager who had never run away
Morgane has never run away in the past, according to her parents, “which describe good relationships in the family, which is confirmed by Morgane's paternal grandparents”, informed the magistrate. According to one of her friends, she was also able to indicate on social networks that she would not come to class on Monday.
Gendarmerie units “fully engaged”
“The gendarmerie units are fully committed to exploring all avenues in order to find this young girl as quickly as possible. This commitment will not weaken as long as this teenager is missing,” assures the public prosecutor who does not exclude or favor any avenue at this time.
“It’s starting to take a long time, it’s very long, very very long. She left with nothing, it’s very cold. She now has to come back,” insists Yoan Rivoal, Morgane’s dad.
The latter also told us that there would be no citizen raid on Saturday, and that the gendarmes would go door to door. Information that the magistrate did not want, “as is”, confirm.
