Faithful to the position for twenty-seven years, Sophie Davant presents the Telethon 2024 on France 3 from 9 p.m. this Friday, November 29. A presenter with a big heart who almost launched into a completely different career than journalism at the start.
“Make it 3637!” Since 1997, the year she presented the Telethon for the first time, Sophie Davant tirelessly repeats this telephone number every year, which allows donations to be collected for the AFM (French Association against Myopathies). From this Friday, November 29 on France 3, the host will be with Nagui at the helm of the 38th edition of the Telethon sponsored by Mika. “It’s a source of pride, I like stories of longevity and I have the impression of feeling useful and of putting myself at the service of a cause that concerns everyone”recently explained the 61-year-old host in an interview with TV Star. “Myself in my family, I have a niece whose granddaughter was affected by a genetic disease, I never talked about it until then”revealed Valentine’s mother.
The Telethon is undoubtedly one of the strongest experiences of his television career. “I also like to throw a party for these children. It’s fortunate that we take an interest in them once a year and that the way we look at them changes”confided the one who formed bonds with certain child ambassadors. She was able to see the progress linked to the research which could be made in particular thanks to donations from France Télévisions viewers and French people who are involved in the region. Very powerful moments that someone who imagined going into wine before studying journalism and joining the public service in 1986 would never have thought she would experience.

Sophie Davant's rare secrets about her very short career in the wine industry
In 2021, during his appearance on the show The bon vivant table on Europe 1, Sophie Davant spoke about this failed career in wine. “I discovered while preparing this show that before doing television, you intended to work in the import-export of wine, is that true?”Laurent Mariotte asked him. “I am from Bordeaux, I was born in Cestas, and Cestas is in the Graves vineyard, I am not very far from Château Carbonnieux for example”justified the one who also cited La Louvière. “I studied foreign languages and there I told myself that living in this region, I was going to work in this environment, so I did internships at Dourthe, the wine merchant, and I realized, when even, that it was easier to succeed in this environment when you were the son of a lord”concluded the former host ofDeal done who finally did well to launch himself on TV.
