The Frenchwoman Amandine Chazot, vice-world champion of stand up paddle and bearer of the Olympic flame on June 7, 2024 at the Paris Olympic Games, died this Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the age of 33.
Too young to suffer the misfortunes of illness. Amandine Chazot, twice world vice-champion and six-time French stand-up paddle champion, died of cancer against which she had been fighting for several years. It was the League of Brittany, his native region, which announced the sad news. She had a husband and a little boy.
The French sportswoman was also world vice-champion of her sport in Denmark in 2017 then in 2019 in El Salvador. The latter had decided to put on hold her activity as a radiologist at the Cornouaille hospital in Quimper to return to the water at the start of the year. She notably had the opportunity to carry the Olympic flame during her visit to Finistère, on La Torche beach, according to 20 Minutes.

Her light and her smile will continue to shine in our memories, and her journey will remain an example for the future generations”confided the Brittany Surfing League on Facebook, the club where she was licensed.
“Forever in our hearts, she will remain a model for all those who share a love of the ocean and water sports.”
Furthermore, the surfer won a race last May, the Green Paddle Race in Loire-Atlantique.
