“You’re going to pay for it”… Naïma Moutchou denounces Manuel Bompard’s threats

After several slip-ups in the Hemicycle, notably between the MoDem deputy Nicolas Turquois and his LFI counterpart Antoine Léaument, it is the turn of Naïma Moutchou, vice-president of the National Assembly and Horizons deputy for Val-d'Oise to step up to the plate by publishing a press release on X this Friday.

She denounces threats made against her during a particularly tense public session. She claims to have been the target of intimidating remarks from MP Manuel Bompard (LFI), who allegedly told her on several occasions: “You are going to pay for it, you are going to pay for what you are doing… you will pay for that, including electorally.”

Possible discrimination?

Describing these words as serious attacks on respect for institutions, Naïma Moutchou questions the fact that her male successors as president of the sessions, applying the same rules, did not face such threats. “Is it because I’m a woman?” And a woman with an immigrant background? Is it easier? » she questioned, referring to possible discrimination.

She also deplores “the strategy of disorder and chaos” adopted according to her by LFI, which contributes to a deterioration of parliamentary debates. “The National Assembly is the heart of our democracy: we work there, we oppose it, but we never threaten,” she stressed, promising to “give in nothing” in the face of this intimidation. “The Republic deserves better. I will always serve her with honor, loyalty and respect,” she concluded.
