Amandine Chazot died this Wednesday at the age of 33 from cancer. The Brittany surfing league announced the news in a press release published on Facebook.
Amandine Chazot, six times French stand-up paddle champion, died of cancer against which she had been fighting for several years. The news was reported by the French Surfing Federation as well as the Brittany Surf League, his native region. Also world vice-champion in the discipline in Denmark in 2017 then in 2019 in El Salvador, Chazot decided to put his work as a doctor on hold to return to the water. She notably carried the flame during her visit to Finistère, on La Torche beach.
«Amandine was not only a great champion, she embodied the deep values of our sport: perseverance, passion and immense humility. His light and his smile will continue to shine in our memories, and his journey will remain an example for future generations.» declared the Brittany Surf League on its Facebook, the club where Chazot was licensed. The surfer won a race last May, the Green Paddle Race in Loire-Atlantique.
