Jihadist and rebel forces who launched a vast offensive in northern Syria entered the city of Aleppo on Friday, an NGO and witnesses said.
“They entered the west and southwest neighborhoods”the director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH), Rami Abdel Rahman, told AFP. Two witnesses confirmed to AFP that they had seen armed men and testified to the panic in the large city in northern Syria.
Still according to the director, the fighters “took control of five neighborhoods” of the city, while the regime forces “did not put up much resistance”.
