It's a weekend ahead freezing for a large part of France. If the weather remains fairly dry and clear, the cold will make a comeback. Morning frosts will also appear in 54 departments according to Météo-France.
Morning frosts back in France
This is an exceptional situation for this time of year. Nearly 54 departments will face morning frosts. With clear nights and no wind, temperatures will soon plummet.
Minimum temperatures will often reach between -4°C and -2°C. Please note that they could also drop as low as -5°C in certain regions. In urban areas, the effect of stored heat could limit the drop to values between -2°C and 0°C.
On the other hand, the countryside will clearly not be spared from this drop in temperatures according to the weather forecasts. This cold will be particularly visible from dawn on Saturday and Sunday.

The frost will become widespread throughout Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France. The departments of Aisne, Oise, Somme, Nord and Pas-de-Calais will also face freezing mornings.
In these areas of the territory, Temperatures expected to get closer to -4°C. In Normandy, the frosts will be particularly marked in the departments of Manche, Calvados, Orne, as well as in the east of Eure and Seine-Maritime.
None of the Grand-Est departments will be spared from this drop in temperatures according to the weather forecasts. From Meurthe-et-Moselle to Alsace, via Moselle and the Ardennes, everyone will have to deal with freezing mornings.
The entire region of Burgundy-Franche-Comté will also be under the influence of the cold. The departments of Yonne, Nièvre, Côte-d'Or, Saône-et-Loire, Jura, Doubs and Haute-Saône will see their minimum temperatures drop below zero.
Fairly mild weather this weekend
In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, frost will remain widespread. From Allier to Puy-de-Dôme, via Savoie and Isère, temperatures will drop to -5°C in places. The departments of Drôme and Ardèche, accustomed to slightly milder conditions, also remain affected.
In the south-east, the Hautes-Alpes, the Alpes-Maritimes and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence will also experience morning frosts according to Météo-France. Vaucluse will see also its temperatures border on freezing point.
Some areas will benefit from milder temperatures. This is particularly the case for Brittany and the Pays de la Loire. Morning frosts should not reach these regions of France.
In the south, morning frosts will spare the regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine. These parts of the territory should experience higher and fairly mild temperatures.
According to the Weather Channel, dry and pleasant weather should still invade France. And this, despite the presence of morning frosts. On Saturday, residents of the south of France will enjoy clear skies.
While the north will see more mist and clouds. On Sunday, showers could affect the Breton coasts. They will also mark the beginning of a Wetter week with rising temperatures.
