This story was updated November 29th with new iPhone deals.
While Samsung and Google battle it out for Black Friday supremacy, Apple’s iPhone pricing has remained stable. But you can pick up a rare iPhone deal this holiday season, even if the discount doesn’t match up with the Android competition.
Best Buy has discounted several iPhones for Black Friday 2024. As expected, the iPhone 16 remains at full price. But if you’re a true deal hunter, opting for the iPhone 15 makes far more sense anyway.
- Apple iPhone 15, $50 off – Final price: $679.99.
- Apple iPhone 15 Plus, $50 off – Final price: $779.99.
- Apple iPhone 14 Plus, $50 off – Final price: $629.99.
- Apple iPhone 13, $50 off – Final price: $499.99.
Where is the iPhone 15 Pro?
ForbesApple Shows Why You Should Buy The iPhone 15 Pro Max InsteadBy Janhoi McGregor
As you can see, Best Buy has not discounted the iPhone 15 Pro range, or the iPhone 16. There’s a reason for this, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max support Apple Intelligence. Whereas the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus do not. The pro units are more valuable and likely why both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro series remain at full price at some stores. Of the two, the iPhone 15 Pro is the better deal.
There are discounts to be found out there for the 2023 Pro range, though. Amazon seems to have the best deals so far.
- Apple iPhone 15 Pro, $58 off – Final price: $709.95.
- Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, $50.74 off – Final price: $869.95.
Amazon’s iPhone 15 Pro price is cheaper than Best Buy’s iPhone 15 Plus, which makes it a no-brainer. Keep an eye on the retailer’s pricing because it is wildly fluctuating with deals popping up, and then disappearing, within days and hours. ForbesApple Shows Why You Should Sell Your iPhone 14By Janhoi McGregor
Update November 29th: Apple has now released its official Black Friday deals. As ever, it hasn’t directly discounted the iPhone or iPad ranges, instead it is handing out store credit with select purchases.
- iPhone 15 – $75 gift card
- iPhone 14 – $50 gift card
- iPhone SE – $25 gift card
- MacBook Air 15-inch – $200 gift card
- MacBook Air (M3) 13-inch – $175 gift card
- MacBook Air (M2) 13-inch – $150 gift card
- iPad Pro – $100 gift card
- iPad Air – $75 gift card
- iPad (10th Gen) – $50 gift card
Apple has also upped its trade-in prices when buying new hardware and they are competitive…if you’re handing over an iPhone. They top-out at $650 if you swap in an iPhone 15 Pro Max. A more realistic trade-in, such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max, will net $300. That matches Samsung’s price (when buying the Galaxy S24 Ultra), which I consider to be the industry leader on trade-in valuations.
Apple’s offer is far less impressive if you have a Galaxy phone to trade-in, however. The company will only pay $130 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra compared to Samsung’s $650 valuation. Despite Apple’s smartphones decreasing in value, they still retain more of their retail launch price than any other smartphone brand.
