The cold returns to a large part of the territory this weekend. Freezing temperatures are expected overnight, but there will be no snowfall.
It has been almost hot in recent days over a large part of the territory. After the snowfall on Thursday, November 21, the mercury rose drastically at the end of last week and at the beginning of this week, as detailed by La Chaîne Météo. These temperatures contrast with the arrival of decorations for the end of year celebrations in the streets. But the cold will quickly return this weekend. Météo France warns of risks of frost in 54 departments.
Are concerned: Île-de-France, Aisne, Oise, Somme, Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Normandy, Manche, Calvados, Orne, Eure, Seine-Maritime. In the East, the Ardennes, Aube, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin and Vosges will also be affected by the cold. Same thing in Yonne, Nièvre, Côte-d'Or, Saône-et-Loire, Jura, Doubs, Haute-Saône, Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal, Haute-Loire, Loire, Rhône, Isère, Drôme, Ardèche, Ain, Savoie and Haute-Savoie. Finally, in the southern part of the country, it is the mountainous regions which will be concerned, in particular the departments of Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Vaucluse.
The mercury will be low this weekend, mainly at night in the east of the country. During the night from Friday to Saturday, it will be -1°C in Metz, Auxerre and Amiens, 0°C in Strasbourg, Chaumont, Reims, and Belfort. Temperatures will rise during the day, but will not exceed 10°C in the north-eastern quarter of the country, with a minimum of 2°C for Strasbourg.
The night from Saturday to Sunday will be cold, but the mercury will only drop below 0°C in Metz, where it will be -1°C according to Météo France forecasts. It will also be 0°C in Strasbourg, Belfort, Chaumont and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Temperatures will remain stationary on Sunday, with plenty of sunshine over a large part of the territory. Be careful of the ground which may be slippery in the morning in the affected regions.
