Mariona Caldentey is one of 11 Gunners nominated for honours at the prestigious Best FIFA Awards 2024.

Our Spanish forward, who joined in the summer from Barcelona, has been nominated for the Best FIFA Women’s Player award after a sensational 2023/24 season.

Mariona netted 19 times in 2023/24 for Barcelona, helping Blaugrana win the quadruple including the Women’s Champions League in Bilbao.

Our summer signing has hit the ground running in N5, scoring five times in red including four in the Champions League.

Mariona is one of 16 candidates up for the Best FIFA Women’s Player award, which has been won by a Spanish player in each of the last three seasons.

Following a glittering debut season between the sticks, David Raya is up for the individual award of Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper.

Our Spanish stopper kept 16 clean sheets in his maiden campaign, enough to win the Premier League Golden Glove award for 2023/24.

David is up against compatriots Unai Simon, Mike Maignan, Andriy Lunin, Ederson, Gianluigi Donnarumma and former Gunner Emiliano Martinez.

Meanwhile, a raft of our stars are in contention to be named in The Best FIFA Men’s 11. The award recognises the finest players in the world in their positions, with fans allowed to cast their vote and have their say.

When casting your vote, you can choose your formation of 4-3-3, 4-4-2 or 3-4-3.

As well as being nominated for the goalkeeper award, David Raya is also among the candidates with the gloves for the Best Men’s XI.

Gabriel and William Saliba, who helped form a rock-solid defence with David last season, are in the defenders category.

Our captain Martin Odegaard as well as Declan Rice are nominated in the midfielders category with Bukayo Saka among the forward options for you to choose from.

In the women’s game, Beth Mead’s incredible goal against West Ham United from November 2023 has been nominated for the FIFA Marta Award.

The award, named after the legendary Brazilian forward, celebrates the best goals from the previous season.

Beth’s strike came just a month after returning from her ACL injury as she rounded off a sweeping move, curing her fine effort beyond Megan Walsh.

The forward’s incredible strike is going up against goals from Delphine Cascarino, Marina Hagering, Sakina Karchaoui, Paulina Krumbiegel, Nina Matejic, Guiseppina Moraca, Asisat Oshoala, Mayra Pelayo, Trinity Rodman and the award’s namesake, Marta, for her goal against Jamaica for Brazil.

Similar to the men’s game, we also have a number of players up for the Best FIFA Women’s XI.

Emily Fox, Kate McCabe and Steph Catley are all in contention in the defender category with Mariona nominated as one of the 22 forwards. You can have your say by casting your votes for the XI.
