The PlayStation 5 for €374!
Although Sony announces a more compact format of more than 30% (358 × 96 × 216 mm for the basic version and 358 × 80 × 216 mm for the Digital Edition) and a weight reduction of 18 or 24% depending on the version (3.2 or 2.6 kg), the manufacturer does not wish to adorn its new PlayStation 5 with the term Slim
. The firm has made some aesthetic changes, such as this oblique stripe which actually separates the side shells into 4 parts. The upper parts are made of shiny plastic, while the lower parts are matte.
This will allow you to change only a part, for example to vary the colors (once the official modules are marketed), but also add an optional HD Blu-Ray player to the Digital Edition model (you will need to be logged in the first time to activate it).
Optional Blu-Ray drive and 1TB of storage
The support for placing the console vertically has been redesigned and now takes the more elegant shape of a chrome circle, but you will have to checkout and get rid of an additional 29.99 euros to take advantage of it (the horizontal support is delivered in the box). Both versions offer 2 USB-C ports on the front (1 USB-C port and 1 USB-A port previously) and include 1 TB of internal storage (compared to 825 GB previously), which is not a bad thing considering the size that certain games can reach.
Of course, the power remains the same as previous versionsand these are in no way Pro versions.
