His hearing scheduled for this Thursday, further postponed to a later date

The hearing of Jérôme Bandiaky, alias “Sniper”, initially scheduled for this Thursday after a first postponement on Wednesday, ultimately did not take place. According to information from DakarActu, this meeting with the judge was again postponed to a later date, without details on the reasons for this new postponement.

Jérôme Bandiaky, recently arrested by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), is under arrest warrant following a search which revealed the presence of weapons in his home. This file, which arouses keen media and public interest, remains surrounded by numerous questions about the exact circumstances of this discovery.

According to our colleagues at Libération, the case, which concerns the violent demonstrations that shook Senegal, led to a new arrest. This is Sakory Ka known as Papis, the brother of ex-minister Doudou Ka. The latter was placed in police custody yesterday, following an action by the Criminal Investigation Division (Dic), in accordance with the judicial delegation of the dean of judges.

Sakory Ka, nicknamed Papis, according to certain family sources, was responsible for securing the homes of his brother Doudou Ka and taking charge of the security elements in Dakar and Ziguinchor. However, investigators seem to have evidence contrary to this version. Papis’ name actually emerged in this investigation after Jérôme Bandiaky, during his hearings, cited him as the person who allegedly sold him a weapon found in the apartment he occupied.
