The debates around the Insoumis' bill to repeal the pension reform got out of hand on Thursday, November 28 in the National Assembly. An altercation broke out between Nicolas Turquois, MoDem deputy for the 4th constituency of , and Antoine Léaument, LFI deputy for the 10th constituency of Essonne. The situation required the intervention of Marc Fesneau, leader of the MoDem deputies, and a bailiff to restore calm. Nicolas Turquois then left the hemicycle.

Guest of France Bleu Poitou on Friday morning, the centrist deputy denounces pressure and insults. He explains that the Insoumis circulated a list with his name, because of the large number of amendments he tabled to oppose the repeal of the pension reform.

He believes he is being targeted, along with his loved ones: “It's more like insults. It is not acceptable as such to appear on a list, but when your loved ones receive it, well it is collectively, your family, who does not take it well“.

The deputy nevertheless concedes that “it is never legitimate to lose your temper. Afterwards, I expressed what I feel as a man“. He adds: “I am not a political beast who will scavenge on some people. I try to protect myself and those close to me“.

According to our information, Xavier Breton, president of the session, indicated that this incident would be discussed at the next meeting of the office of the National Assembly. “Following the incident which took place during the session suspension, I will suggest to Madam President that this incident be discussed at the next office meeting.” he said.
