This November 28, at the National Assembly, a MoDem deputy almost came to blows with a socialist colleague at the end of a day devoted to the parliamentary niche of La France insoumise which proposed a project to repeal the pension reform. “It’s unacceptable,” denounces Prisca Thévenot, MP Together for the Republic, this Friday, November 29 on RTL.
For the MP, the atmosphere in the Assembly was marked by strong tensions during this day which, according to her, aimed to “bring together 577 deputies to debate a false proposal which could not succeed in any case”.
Prisca Thévenot recounts “a very strong tension of the day” and “this extremely hard point where violence is put on the table”. “No matter where it comes from, who responds or not, it is absolutely unacceptable.”
“We have been saying for a while that the violence of words and on social networks has consequences in everyday life“, she says. She recalls that in the middle of a poster campaign during the last legislative elections, Prisca Thévenot and her team were attacked, an activist had his jaw broken.”
“We have already reached a very difficult point,” she continues, referring to the violence of November 28 in the Assembly. The bailiffs immediately intervened. The chairman of the session said that he would contact the office of the National Assembly and that this subject would be on the agenda if the president of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivetwishes it. We must be able to know what happened during this moment of violence. If there are indeed sanctions to be taken, they must be taken.”
