Wind rising against the latest budgetary arbitrations, the inter-union of retirees is calling for demonstrations on the Place du Vigan this Tuesday, December 3.

After the demonstration on October 1 in , the Tarn retirees' union is calling for a new demonstration on Tuesday, December 3, Place du Vigan in Albi. “We are asking that retirement pensions be indexed to inflation as the law provided for,” underlines Marie-Claire Culié for the CGT. Since 2017, pensions have only increased by 13.6% for an inflation of 19. 5%. According to her, retirees would therefore have lost between 3 and 4.5 months of pension over the period.

The Tarn inter-union therefore demands that pensions be indexed again to inflation and that the government opens negotiations to compensate for the losses in purchasing power of retirees since 2017. “We also want pensions to be indexed at least to the average salary”, adds Marie-Claire Culié.

The members of the inter-union are also concerned about the Social Security financing bill (PLFSS) of 2025 which plans to increase certain health expenses, which will impact retirees with small pensions.

“For the past two weeks, to take the pulse of the population, we have gone to various markets in Tarn. To date, 700 petitions in favor of our demands have already been signed,” concludes Marie-Claire Culié. Tarnese demands which were also transmitted in writing to Prime Minister Michel Barnier.
