Former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has declared that Kylian Mbappé is “the best player in the world” and it is just “a matter of time” before he proves it. The comments came after the French striker missed a penalty that could have equalized in Real Madrid’s loss to Liverpool.
Bale, who won a total of 16 titles with the ‘Blancos’, defended Mbappé during a broadcast on TNT Sports, where he took on the role of a sports analyst.
“He’s the best in the world and it’s only a matter of time before he proves it. He and Salah both missed penalties but since Liverpool won, the only thing being talked about is Mbappé’s miscue,” the Welshman said.
Reflecting on the game itself, Bale remarked: “Liverpool played far better and dominated the game from start to finish,” he confirmed.
