There's one thing that bothers you when you watch a program on TV: ad breaks. These usually come at the wrong time. Especially when the suspense is at its height.
But after a few minutes of advertising pages, our haste is satisfied and we can resume the thread of our story. This is not what happened last night, Wednesday November 27, 2024, on TMC.
While the little sister of TF1 diffuse the movie The First Namethat it was not our surprise when, at return of ad breakFrench comedy has simply… been rebroadcast from the beginning.
Return to the beginning of the film after the ad
The First Nameit's the story of a dinner between friends that gets out of hand. When Vincent (played by Patrick Bruel) decides to make others believe that he is going to name his future child Adolphe, heated debates enliven the group. A simple joke that will bring out family secrets.
Released in 2012, the French comedy inspired by a play is a classic that you may have seen before. But why not see him again this Wednesday in November?
While Patrick Bruel and his friends argue, the first ad break occurs around 10 p.m.. A few minutes later, it is with the credits music that we pick up the thread.
We first think of an error on our part. Despite the change of channel, we are indeed witnessing what we thought: TMC replays the beginning of the film rather than picking up where we left off.
And it didn't stop there
If only it had stopped there. The bug was never fixed and worse, at the next ad break, it was another film that has been proposed to viewers a little before 11 p.m.: Barbaque (2021) with Fabrice Éboué and Marina Foïs.
But then, what happened? A message from the channel broadcast in a banner confirms the technical bug.
Due to a technical problem, we are unable to broadcast the rest of your film The First Name. Your evening continues with the film Barbaque. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Internet users are having fun with the situation
This bug caused a stir on Twitter. Many Internet users, surprised, were amused by the situation. “At least we will have three film debuts in less than 2 hours”, “At any time, they only bought the rights to half the film”, we can read on X (ex-Twitter).
Contacted, TMC has not yet responded to requests fromactu.fr.
