A hundred films, a deep voice well known to the general public… And behavior considered inappropriate by several women. Nine of them accuse Gérard Darmon of sexist and sexual violence in a Politis investigation published this Wednesday. Technician, production assistant, intern… The victims, most of them aged under 30 and precarious at the time of the events, all worked with the actor on film sets between 2018 and last summer. No complaint has been filed against the actor, who completely denies these accusations.
These women describe to our colleagues an insistent, angry and gritty Gérard Darmon, driven by a feeling of “omnipotence”. They recount the humiliations they allegedly suffered on the sets, sexual propositions and non-consensual physical contact.
The youngest of them, aged 19 at the time – compared to 76 for the actor – depicts a man “very honeyed, pressing his kisses to the corner of his mouth”. While she was working as an intern on the set of “You are young, you are beautiful”, the actor allegedly said to her: “We can make love, you can come to my house. »
A complaint filed against the production for non-protection
The young woman refuses, telling him the same evening that she is “the age of her children”. Upset, Gérard Darmon would have changed his behavior, calling her “female dog” or slut and belittling her. After informing the production and the management of her school, she will leave the filming, without any concrete action being taken. “Production did not protect me. She did not want to make me safe and favored the actor and the continuation of the film,” she testifies. According to Politis, this young intern finally decided to file a complaint against the production for non-protection.
The first assistant director, who confirms having heard the actor hold this type of trial, claims to have herself been subjected to her share of outrageous behavior. While she was sitting cross-legged, Gérard Darmon would have slipped his hand between her thighs while saying hello. “It’s okay, you’re not going to give me a MeToo!” “, the signatory of the platform in support of Gérard Depardieu would have told him, before giving him “the face for two weeks”.
The nine women who agreed to testify with Politis worked on six feature films with Gérard Darmon. In four of them, members of the production warned the collaborators most in contact with him about his behavior and his “wandering hands”, without speaking to the actor about it. Most often, these were makeup artists, costume designers and hairdressers.
Ten other women spoke out during the investigation, says Politis. But they did not wish to be quoted and revive these painful memories. Contacted by our colleagues, the actor denied all these accusations.
