This Monday, November 25, in , violent winds caused extensive damage to the overhead lines of the tram network. Many disruptions are still expected.

Violent winds continue to disrupt the circulation of Lyon tramways, while this Monday, November 25, the Rhône department was placed on orange alert by Météo .

As a result, the strong gusts “caused damage to the overhead lines of the tram network, causing numerous disruptions,” explains the transporter Keolis in a press release.

Lines T2, T3, T4, T5, T7 and Rhônexpress were affected. To allow users to travel, the company has set up partial services, as well as relay buses.

Thanks to the technical teams mobilized since Monday morning, the line T2 now circulates normally.

On the line T4, the stations from Croizat-Paul Bert to Hôpital Feyzin Vénissieux are no longer served by then while on the T5traffic is completely interrupted.

“We provide you with T5 relay buses which serve the stations from Hôtel de Ville de to Eurexpo, T2 relay buses which serve the stations from Grange Blanche to HDV Bron”, specify the TCL.

These two lines should run normally again from Tuesday morning.

Trees on the road

Return to service also remains difficult in the Décines Center sector. “Trees fell on the track, damaging three overhead line poles, preventing the lines from T3, T7 et Rhônexpress to circulate normally,” reports the transport company.

Technical teams were tasked with evacuating fallen trees. “A complete technical diagnosis can then be carried out in order to assess the time required to repair the overhead line poles,” explains Keolis.

In the meantime, line T3 only runs between Gare Part-Dieu Villette and Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie. Relay buses are set up between La Soie and ZI.

The bus network is also disrupted by bad weather. Details of the disruptions can be found on the TCL website.
