This Sunday, November 24, the novelist was the guest of Frédéric Lopez in A Sunday in the countryside. The opportunity for her to return to the origin of her family name and her links with the princely family.
If you're a TV fan, Sunday is probably one of your favorite days. Between TF1 and France 2, the channels offer a veritable anthology of programs, ranging from documentaries to reports, including TV films and discovery shows. On TF1, the iconic Portrait of the week Seven to eight attracts millions of viewers, while on France 2, we let ourselves be carried away by the sweetness of Un Sunday in the countryside. Presented by Frédéric Lopez, this program brings together each week three public figures who spend an evening, a night and a day in the countryside. The opportunity for them to reveal themselves a little more, like Virginie Grimaldi, who addressed a question that bothered many viewers.
Yesterday, Frédéric Lopez received the novelist, whose latest novel, Bigger than the skywas released in 2024. Between discussions and activities, the latter returned to the origin of her family name and her “almost homonyms”, the famous Grimaldi of Monaco. “It seems that I have family in Monaco”, she said, referring to the princely family, before specifying: “Centuries ago, we share common roots with the Monaco family.” But, she added, that’s it. Today, in the 21st century, the Grimaldis of Monaco and Virginie Grimaldi are not at all part of the same lineage. A nice last name all the same!
Dany Boon and Kendji Girac in complete transparency in A Sunday in the countryside
Far from the spotlight, A Sunday in the countryside is an opportunity for the personalities who participate to speak without artifice about their lives, their memories and their trials. A program often rich in emotions, but also in moments of great complicity and humor, very appreciated by viewers. This November 24, Virginie Grimaldi was accompanied by Dany Boon, who is preparing to go on tour again with his new one-man show, and Kendji Girac, recently returned with his latest album Vivre. Both played the game of honesty. But if the first spoke in particular of his hypochondria which pushes him to monitor his state of health, continuously, thanks to multiple gadgets, Kendji Girac for his part returned to the accident which almost cost him his life. A first for the artist who let a few tears escape.
