Sometimes stormy winds
By this afternoon and tonight, gusty winds in the plains will often blow between 60 and 70km/h. Locally, these values can be higher towards the first heights.
Towards the Pyrenees, wind gusts could blow at more than 110-120km/h. On crests, sometimes more than 140km/h is possible. For the Massif Centralwe will still find wind gusts between 80 and 90 km/h. They will have tendency to strengthen.
Conversely, towards Brittany a much less windy situation is expectedthis after the passage of the front. The Channel coasts will still have strong winds from the southwest, blowing between 70 and 90 km/h.
Current at night and until mid-morning on Monday: peak intensity
It is during the next night (especially late night) and until midday tomorrow Monday that the strongest gusts of wind are expected on the Massif Central.
Thus, it is for example planned up to 100-110km/h towards the northern plains of Auvergneaccording to Météo-France forecasts. Locally, the organization indicates that stronger winds are possible.
More broadly, Météo-France services are placing tomorrow in vigilance orange for strong winds the following departments: Allier, SaôneLoire, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, Rhône and Haute-Loire. The Pyrénées Atlantiques should come out of orange vigilance.
Elsewhere in France, many departments are and will remain placed on yellow alert. Although wind gusts are less severe than orange alert areas, be careful : strong gusts can also be observed here in a more localized manner.
Lull thereafter
Over the next few days, we will see much calmer weather. In fact, the weather conditions will become more and more anticyclonic in the south of France.
This will result in a return to more variable to cloudy weather but above all much less windy. However, we will watch for a slightly more low pressure influence until mid-week over the northern half. What happens next is still very uncertain for the beginning of December… to be continued!
