Twenty-three years after his victory at the “Star Academy”, the interpreter of In the sun or even Give me time released a new best-of album titled Jukebox, in collaboration with his ex, Yodelice.
The singer – discovered by the general public in 2001 during the very first season of “Star Academy” on TF1 – is back more than twenty years later at studio 217 this Saturday, November 23. Jenifer will sing will therefore be present for this special “alumni” week alongside the academicians of the 2024 season. The opportunity for her to reveal to them the new concept of her best-of album and her tour, inspired by the jukebox. The idea here is to offer the public an album where Jenifer revisits her old songs but also to let them choose, once on stage, the songs they want to hear during the evening.

This record project was done in collaboration with another artist, occupying a special place for the singer: Maxim Nucci alias Yodeline, her ex-companion. “We always had this desire to collaborate together again”she explained to our colleagues at Télé 7 Jours. And to continue: “We have excellent memories of my third album, Moody (2007). And I have always admired his work enormously, from the beginning. It was bound to happen.”
After sharing six years of her life with Maxim Nucci, Jenifer knows him particularly well. “He is someone instinctive, who needs to feel things in order to grasp them, to be able to collaborate. It's not a machine, really. He is as complex and simple as me. That's what I like about him. And after so many experiences, on his side as well as mine, we said to ourselves that maybe now was the moment”she said.
And although they separated, the two artists – parents of a 21-year-old boy named Aaron – were able to maintain very good relations. “He came to my last concert at Cabaret Sauvage (19th century), in Paris, with his wife (journalist Isabelle Ithurburu Editor’s note) and my ex-parents-in-law. We all get along very well”she said in a second interview given to Parisian. Maxime Nucci and Jenifer are not ready to part ways given that they are working together on the ex-academic's next original album. “We have already started […] That’s what we’ve been talking about for a few years now, him and I.”
