The Traveler : the unsuspected origin of the France 3 series
A police officer withdrawn from society, but deeply human and capable of being one with the victims' loved ones… But how was the profile of Yann Kandisky imagined? Alternately played by Éric Cantonna and Bruno Debrandt, this character is the fruit of the mind of screenwriter Hervé Korian. Interviewed by Ouest France, he explained that The Traveler was born after the discovery of the affair of “disappeared from the A6” : “What initially motivated me were the disappearances from the A6, where several women were killed. I had seen a report and I was very touched by the commitment of the mothers of the victims who were reunited alone once the case was closed. And even before that, I wanted to create a character capable and likely to help them. But in order to spend time and take part in an investigation, he had to gain his freedom. “
The missing from the A6: crimes not necessarily linked
But what is it exactly? The A6 missing persons case, a name used mainly by the press to describe the disappearances and murders of 12 women and teenagers. Between 1894 and 2005, these victims were reported in cases occurring between Mâcon, Chalon-sur-Saône and Montceau-les-Mines, within a radius of 200 kilometers. Here, for the moment, it is not a question of a single serial killer, but of several murderers. If certain investigations have been elucidated, resulting in convictions, others still remain open, between the specialists of the cold case center in Nanterre.
