Inclusivity will be at the heart of the Christmas market which will take place on Saturday November 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Saint-François college, 95, rue de Talant in Dijon, which has a Ulis system (localized unit for school inclusion). It will echo the cause of disability chosen this year by the Adrien-Huguet association.
Its vice-president Corinne Spellat announced the presence of three painters and photographers and a jewelry designer, all with physical, visual or hearing disabilities. Around fifteen artisans will be standing alongside them offering fabric objects, mangas, herbal teas and even essential oils.
A refreshment bar and Christmas cards will be offered by the college pastoral ministry. Who will also have worked with residents of the Simon-de-Cyrène association to sell the products produced.
Intergenerational workshops to make Advent candles and wreaths, priced at €5 and €30 respectively, will allow visitors to leave with handmade gifts. All funds raised will be donated to the two associations and a raffle will be intended for Simon-de-Cyrène.
Raise public awareness
This collaboration of committed actors will also be an opportunity to raise public awareness. A conference on disability and shared housing between able-bodied and disabled people in Simon-de-Cyrène is planned.
Franck Desrayaud, president of the Adrien-Huguet association, underlines the objective of the day: “To highlight visible and invisible disabilities, as well as the difficulties that result from them, such as the breakdown of family ties. » Choosing this period was not insignificant, because, according to him, “Christmas is also about taking care of your loved ones. »
For his part, Clément Troubat, exhibiting artist, hopes to “bring happiness to people’s hearts” and says he is impatient for the public to come.
