This Saturday, November 23, Francis Cabrel blows out 71 candles. Celebrating his birthday, he should bring his whole family together at his Astaffort estate this weekend, a true haven of peace for the singer.
When he is not on stage, such as during the Rose Festival of the Bigflo and Oli brothers, to perform one of the many titles from his discography, it is in Astaffort that Francis Cabrel has his quarters. Born in this village in Lot-et-Garonne, the singer is celebrating his 71st birthday there this Saturday. A party which should be as big as the estate on which he lives, purchased almost thirty years ago by the star. There sits an old building dating from 1850 which seduced the companion of Little Mary thanks to the acoustics of his barn, which has since become a recording studio for the singer and his musicians.
All the partitions are easily removable and the walls are decorated with posters and photos of Francis Cabrel's favorite musicians. Mismatched rugs, sofas and armchairs furnish the recording studio space, to allow all the artists to work together and looking at each other. The studio overlooks the barn's main room, a veritable banquet hall, with fairy lights on the ceiling beams and a few massive wooden tables, a small stage and a kitchen. Enough to feed all the musicians, but also organize crazy evenings. Perhaps the singer will organize his birthday there this Saturday? To be continued.

Francis Cabrel: this surprising hobby that keeps him busy outside of music
Far from having been built to accommodate musicians, the father of three daughters' barn was originally an agricultural space. A function which has not completely disappeared, the singer continuing to support his estate thanks to his vines. His estate, Domaine du Boiron, produces numerous bottles each year thanks to the artist's hard work. Because he gets down to the harvest when the time has come! At Parisian he confided in 2020 that he had participated in the year's harvest, which left him “broken backs for three days.”
