Valencia CF is back on the field after the terrible hurricane which devastated a large part of the province of Valencia, as well as other regions of Spain, and which left 220 dead and eight missing so far.
Valencia host Betis at Mestalla this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. This is the first match since the 1-1 draw against Getafe on October 27.
The stadium will be decorated with the giant senyera on loan from Real Madrid, which Levante displayed last week. The regional anthem will be played with “dolçaina and tabalet”. The Valencian players will enter the field wearing special jerseys bearing the slogan “Amunt Valencians”.
Valencia will be dressed entirely in black and there will also be a show in the stands, which the club has not yet revealed, with flags, paper or other products. It is certain that it will go around the world.
L’excitation
As the match approaches, Rubén Baraja shared his feelings. “C‘is a special match for many reasons, it's a long time without competition, what happened to us is extremely serious. Many Valencianistas, club members who have experienced this situation as well as other sectors of the population.”
He added: “We have to be able to deal with the emotions of tomorrow. Emotions will overwhelm you, there will be events, reminders, important things that we have to do as a club. And when the match starts, we must try to bring the energy and emotion that the match and the opponent will demand. We have to know how to find the two right moments.”
