Pierre Palmade sentenced, Muriel Robin looks back on the end of her long friendship with the actor

PEOPLE – One of the last times she spoke about her former friend was already on the set of C to Yous. So when the presenter of the show, Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine questioned Muriel Robin after the verdict of the Palmade trial, it was on this same set that she agreed to speak.

This Friday, November 22, Muriel Robin was in fact the guest of the France 5 program, where she did not escape a question on the subject, despite her declarations affirming that it is no longer a question of friend. Asked precisely about the criticisms which followed this declaration, on the grounds that “ you don't abandon a friend », as mentioned by Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine, the French actress agreed to explain herself, while maintaining a certain modesty in her responses.

And it was not without emotion that she did so, as a long-time partner of the actor, for whom she wrote for a long time the shows he performed on stage, mainly in duets with Michèle Laroque. “ It's not because Pierre Palmade caused an accident that I ended our friendship. We obviously don't let go of a friend », she made a point of recalling as a preamble to her response.

« Pierre, I never let go of him. For 30 years I was at his side and I even put myself – I have already said this several times in an interview – on his shoulders or on his heart rather than: 'you can do to me or do what you want, I will always be here, I will always love you'. I wanted to give him this love, a little absolute, continued Muriel Robin, each word of which seemed carefully chosen. For what ? I don't know. Maybe I wanted to be givene ».

« But, in the context of the accident, I heard and saw things that were unacceptable to me. And that justifies my position today “, she ended up adding, without giving more details.

One-sided friendship?

« I'm not a quitter, I wouldn't say that it flashes on me, but you can tell that I'm quite square, if I give up it's because I have reasons to give up. That's all », concluded the 69-year-old actress, regularly on television with the series Master Crimes where she shares the poster with her wife, actress Anne Le Nen.

Like last year, already on the set of C to youMuriel Robin spoke of this difficult choice, speaking of an unbalanced friendly relationship. “ I think I loved for two and I wake up from this, it's painful”she confided, well before knowing the judgment in this case, which finally took place on Wednesday.

Twenty-one months after his violent road accident under the influence of drugs, Pierre Palmade was sentenced to five years in prison, including two years, at the end of a trial which finally confronted him with his victims and where he was recognized guilty of unintentional injury. He must now serve his sentence very soon, as the Bordeaux prosecutor's office, where he lives, clarified on Thursday.

Summoned “ within a month » for the execution of his sentence, he will then be indicated “the penitentiary establishment in which he will be incarcerated, as well as the date and time at which he must report there”. His actual incarceration “will take place within a maximum period of 4 months” following this interview.
