The 56-year-old comedian has just been sentenced to five years in prison, including two years, for the dramatic accident he caused while under the influence of drugs in February 2023. His ex-friend Muriel Robin comes out of the silence and explains the end of their friendship It's up to you.
A verdict with serious consequences for Pierre Palmade
Justice has ruled in the Pierre Palmade affair. Following the accident which seriously injured three people including a 6-year-old child and caused the loss of an unborn baby, the artist will have to serve a prison sentence.
The terms of his incarceration are already planned, as Michel Mary explains on the set of TPMP : “We protect famous people. We don't put them in the middle of the prison fauna. He's not a thug, he's someone who isn't used to the prison area.” The comedian will thus be placed in a “VIP area” reserved for “vulnerable people”.
Muriel Robin breaks the silence: “I’m not a quitter”
Guest on the set of C to you This Friday, November 22, Muriel Robin spoke for the first time since the verdict. Faced with criticism of her distancing herself from her former friend, she defends herself: “It's not because Pierre Palmade caused an accident that I ended our friendship. For 30 years, I was by his side. I even put it on my heart that you can do this to me whatever you want, I will always be there.”
The 69-year-old comedian continues with emotion: “I wanted to give him this love, a little bit of this absolute love. Why? I don't know. It's the one I wanted to be given to me. But in the context of the accident, I heard and saw things that are unacceptable to me.”
For Muriel Robin, the page has definitely turned. “And that justifies my position today. I'm not a quitter. I don't want it to flash on me, but you can tell that I'm pretty square, that I don't want to leave. I would rather be the last. If I give up, it’s because I have reasons to give up. That’s all,” she responds to her detractors.
Pierre Palmade must take care of himself
The priority for Pierre Palmade will be the continuation of his treatment against addiction. According to Maître Sonia Kemel, interviewed on BFMTV, the prison establishment must have the medical infrastructure necessary for its therapeutic monitoring. Imprisonment in New Aquitaine is planned to facilitate visits from his loved ones.
Sentence adjustments could be granted depending on his behavior. “There will certainly be reductions in sentence“, indicates Master Kemel, specifying that everything will depend on “how will detention go, his personality, if he submits to care, if he behaves properly in prison.”
