Irish MMA star Conor McGregor has been sentenced in civil court for the rape of a woman, we learned this Friday. He will have to pay damages to the plaintiff.

For his part, the accused always claimed that the sexual relationship was consensual, reports AFP.
When leaving the High Court in Dublin after the announcement of his conviction, the MMA star, accompanied by his wife, refused to answer questions from journalists present on site.
Nikita Hand reacted to the media: “I want to show everyone that you can defend your interests if something happens to you, no matter who the person is,” she said following the announcement of the conviction of Conor McGregor.

This is not the only legal case that concerns Conor McGregor. Indeed, during the summer of 2023, a woman accused the Irish star of having sexually assaulted her during an NBA final match taking place in Miami. A woman had accused McGregor of “violently” assaulting her in the restroom of Miami's Kaseya Center during the Miami Heat-Denver Nuggets basketball game, according to letters from the victim's lawyer cited by the media ESPN and TMZ Sports, AFP reported at the time.
According to these same documents, the Irishman had “aggressively kissed” the woman and attempted to perform several sexual acts on her under duress. Facts also denied by Conor McGregor.
