the essential
The Hautes-Pyrénées delegation of the Trade Union Confederation of Families is sounding the alarm: far too many potential beneficiaries are unaware of their right to the energy check. However, its allocation is no longer automatic and the deadline for submitting an application is set for December 31. Don't hesitate to get help.
The Hautes-Pyrénées delegation of the Trade Union Confederation of Families (CSF 65) is launching a campaign in favor of the most deprived as a matter of urgency. Economic restrictions are like antibiotics: spending is no longer automatic. This is the case with the energy check, the amount of which is between €48 and €277 depending on the income and composition of the household. For households overwhelmed by the cost of living, this means a lot.
Emilie Desgardin, why this call to come forward in November?
Usually it is true, with our partner ENGIE we are leading the communication campaign around the energy check in April. But there, everything was turned upside down in the system. At the national level, despite warnings from associations and players in the energy sector, no viable system has been put in place to remedy the problems of awarding the energy check following the disappearance of the energy tax. housing and allow new households to benefit from the energy check in 2024. And in the event of adoption of article 60 of the 2025 finance bill, the automation of the sending of the energy check will be put an end to. , aid which only concerns very modest households, and for whom the energy check constitutes a budgetary imperative. Forcing them to now request it on a platform will have the effect of excluding a large number of them from the system for non-recourse. For the moment, we estimate these non-recourse at 95%.
It's huge! How do you explain it?
This is not for lack of communication on our part. But the public authorities are much more discreet on this subject; when they talk about it, it is among themselves, to develop the 2025 Finance bill. Furthermore, this is explained by the profile of the beneficiary public. Old, precarious… They are overwhelmed by the technical complexity (access to the internet, possession of a computer, a scan and a printer, etc.) and administrative complexity of the (very complicated) procedures.
Why is there an emergency?
Because on December 31, 2024, the appeal platform will be deactivated. The information fell like that, almost without warning. Even social workers were not necessarily informed. 95% non-recourse… People must contact us as quickly as possible, without waiting until the last moment. Afterwards, unless the government admits its mistake, it will be too late.
