It seemed things couldn’t get any better for Franz Wagner, who has been shining since the start of the season. However, the German international managed to take it a step further last night.

The younger of the Wagner brothers took down the Lakers in Los Angeles, achieving a powerful double-double and hitting a game-winner in the final seconds for the Orlando Magic‘s 118-119 road win.

Franz finished the game with 37 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds, while his brother Moritz scored 19 points, and Tristan da Silva added 12. Goga Bitadze contributed seven points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.

It’s worth noting that Anthony Davis had an impressive game for the hosts, scoring 39 points and collecting nine rebounds, but he missed two crucial free throws just before Wagner’s dagger.

In other news… Charlotte Hornets defeated the Detroit Pistons 123-121 in overtime, with Tidjane Salaun scoring seven points in 13 minutes and Moussa Diabate grabbing 16 rebounds for the winning side. Simone Fontecchio added eight points for the Pistons.

The Toronto Raptors recorded a big win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at home, with Jakob Poeltl achieving a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Rudy Gobert did the same for the losing team, finishing with 13 points and 11 boards.

Last but not least, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Utah Jazz 126-118 without Victor Wembanyama, while Lauri Markkanen led the defeated team with 27 points.
