The actor was sentenced this Wednesday, November 20 to five years in prison, including two years for the serious road accident he caused while under the influence of drugs. During the hearing, he apologized to the victims.
More than a year after the accident, the wound is still gaping. This Wednesday, November 20, Pierre Palmade had an appointment with justice after the road accident he caused in October 2023 on a road in Seine-et-Marne while driving under the influence of narcotics.
At the court stand, the comedian asked the victims for forgiveness. “I would like to ask you for forgiveness deep within me, sincerely,” breathed Pierre Palmade. A “great hearing moment”, notes Me Mourad Battikh, the lawyer for the civil parties, on the BFMTV set this Thursday, November 21.
“He took his courage in both hands”
“This request for forgiveness had the merit of existing. I think that Mr. Palmade took his courage in both hands to present his apologies, and for that we thank him,” continues the lawyer for the civil parties.
“Now, my clients are not yet quite ready to welcome them,” continues Me Mourad Battikh.
Pierre Palmade listened throughout the hearing to the broken lives of the victims of the accident he caused. Starting with Yuksel Yakut. This father spoke at length about his previous life. A life made up of work, friends and football games. A pleasure that is now impossible for him.
“He lost his disbelief”
“Today I can't anymore. I can't spend time with my children outside anymore,” explained Yuksel Yakut, hospitalized for more than a year after the accident.
This father shared news of his son, six years old, who was also in the car at the time of the accident. He still has the after-effects of this collision. He can walk, yes, but he has speech difficulties.
“He lost his disbelief, his ability to play without thinking,” reports Me Mourad Battikh, lawyer for the civil parties this Thursday, November 21 on BFMTV.
The little boy retains indelible traces of this evening in February 2023: scar on his chin, but also on his skull.
“When you are six, seven or eight years old, you have stigma on your face, you are the laughing stock of your friends, and it is difficult to build yourself up with that,” explains Me Mourad Battikh.
Mila lost the child she was carrying after the accident. Following the collision, the fetus was urgently extracted by cesarean section from her womb, but declared dead after 32 minutes of resuscitation, without having given any sign of extra-uterine life. Mila was six months pregnant. In court, she recounted life without Solin, the first name chosen by the couple post-mortem.
“He didn’t want to meet him”
“When she was born, I was in total denial. For me, I had just given birth. Solin, I had carried her in my arms (…) I thought we were going to take care of her. She was dead,” Mila explained in tears on the stand.
The young woman has become pregnant again since the accident. She gave birth to little Lawmin two months ago. “I was not able to bond with my child during the pregnancy,” said the mother.
She managed to confront the comedian this Wednesday, November 20. For her husband, this meeting was still impossible. “He was in an adjoining room, he didn’t want to meet him because he still has a lot of anger, a lot of incomprehension,” explains Me Mourad Battikh. “He hasn’t yet digested what happened that evening, so he didn’t want to be present.”
