The third round of the North African U-20 tournament concluded.

The first and second North African Championships qualify for the 2025 African Nations Finals, and the teams of Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya will compete.

The Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia will host the championship competitions until Tuesday, November 26th.

The Egyptian national team, under the leadership of Rogero Micale, defeated Libya with two goals to one, while the Algerian national team tied with Morocco with one goal each.

The Moroccan youth team is on the verge of snatching one of the two qualification cards after reaching the seventh point from 3 matches.

The Egyptian national team’s chances of qualifying increased after achieving victory over Libya, but the Pharaohs need to win over Tunisia in the final round, with Algeria faltering in one of the two matches against Tunisia or Libya.

Before reviewing the scenarios for the youth team’s qualification to the Nations of Africa directly, FilGoal.com presents to you the group ranking table as follows:

1- Morocco 7 points (3 matches)

2- Egypt 4 points (3 matches)

3- Tunisia 3 points (two matches)

4- Algeria, two points (two matches)

5- Libya without points (two matches)

While the remaining two rounds are as follows:

Saturday 23 November

Tunisia x Algeria – 5 pm

Morocco x Libya – 8 pm

Tuesday 26 November

Algeria x Libya – 6 pm

Egypt x Tunisia – 6 pm

FilGoal.com reviews for you the scenarios for the Egyptian national team’s qualification:

– Winning against Tunisia

If the Egyptian national team achieves victory over Tunisia The Pharaohs’ score rises to 7 points.

Even if the Tunisian national team wins over Algeria in the previous round of that match, its score will freeze at 6 points, which gives the Pharaohs the advantage in the standings.

However, when the Egyptian national team wins against Tunisia, Algeria stumbles first, whether against Tunisia on Saturday or against Libya on Tuesday.

This comes because Algeria collected two points from two matches, meaning that if they win the remaining two matches, the Desert Warriors’ tally will reach 8 points, which means surpassing the Egyptian national team in that case.

This means that the Algerian national team must suffer a draw or loss in one of the remaining two matches.

– Draw against Tunisia

In the event of a draw against Tunisia in the final round The Egyptian national team’s tally rises to 5 points.

The Pharaohs’ position becomes more difficult in this case, but there is an opportunity to rise despite that, which is Tunisia’s loss against Algeria, then Libya’s victory over Algeria in the final match, with the Libyan team faltering against Morocco.

In that case, the Moroccan national team will qualify as the tournament leader, while Tunisia’s score will freeze at 4 points, and Libya will stand at 3 points if it loses to Morocco and wins over Algeria, or 4 points if it draws with Morocco and wins over Algeria.

The Egyptian national team is equal with Algeria with 5 points each, and the goal difference in that case decides the qualifier between the Pharaohs and the Desert Warriors.

– Loss from Tunisia

If the Pharaohs lose to Tunisia, this means the official end of the Pharaohs’ dream, as the Carthage Eagles reach 6 points and the national team’s score freezes at 4 points.

Despite this, there is only one case of the Egyptian youth team participating in the African Nations Championship It is hosting the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations next year.
