The Moroccan national under-20 team maintained its lead in the North African qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations, after an exciting 1-1 draw with its Algerian counterpart in the third round of competitions.
The Algerian national team opened the score early through player Mohamed Zaghadi in the 14th minute, and missed the opportunity to strengthen the score by missing a penalty kick in the second half.
But coach Mohamed Wehbe’s Cubs succeeded in equalizing five minutes before the end of the match through Yasser Zaberi, raising the Moroccan team’s score to 7 points in the lead.
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan national team achieved two consecutive victories in the previous two rounds at the expense of Egypt 2-1 and Tunisia 2-1 before today’s draw.
