According to a former US army general, World War III is now “inevitable and Donald Trump knows it”.
Donald Trump, elected last week, will return to the White House in January. His administration will face major challenges, including the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and growing tensions in the Middle East.
Jack Keane, retired US army general, believes in Newsweek magazine that the return of Donald Trump is likely to lead to global conflict. “This election represents a major turning point and I am convinced that President Trump is aware that World War III is inevitable,” he said.
For this former soldier, it is essential to restore the capacity of deterrence against the rivals of the United States. “This means strengthening our armed forces and fundamentally reforming the Pentagon to avoid wasting taxpayers’ money.”
The general also urged the future president to actively support U.S. allies to end persistent conflicts around the world.
