Henri Cavillon, amateur fisherman, was the author of an incredible encounter with a white shark in Porquerolles. This gigantic predator is said to be increasingly present in the Mediterranean Sea.
This is the discovery of the month. On November 4, while sailing near Porquerolles, Henri Cavillon came across a rare species measuring approximately 4 meters: the white shark. An encounter filmed by the amateur fisherman. “I cut off my engine to avoid noise and encourage the encounter. Naturally, he detected me and he came towards me very slowly. Once he had made his turn, he left just as quietly towards the wide”he says.
The presence of this gigantic fish in the Mediterranean Sea is critically endangered. There are no more than a hundred individuals. However, white sharks could be a little more numerous in the Mediterranean. In any case, the bluefin tuna are back. A fish that the sea giant loves.
