The Leopards of the DRC lost on Tuesday, November 19, to the Walya of Ethiopia by a score of one goal to two, at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa.
This meeting counted for the 6th and final day of the CAN 2025 qualifiers.
The Ethiopians scored their first goal in the 37th minute of play through player Bereket Desta Dana.
It is this score which sanctioned the first half of this meeting.
Returning from the locker room, the Congolese strengthened the offensive line before equalizing in the 93rd minute thanks to Dylan Batunbisika on a header.
And the second Ethiopian achievement was the work of player Mohammed Nasir in the 96th minute of play.
Despite this defeat, the DRC finished at the top of Group H of the CAN 2025 qualifiers with 12 units.
It is followed by Tanzania which totals 10 points, synonymous with qualification.
Ethiopia, last in the group with 4 points, played just for its honor.
But for many Congolese analysts, this defeat should serve as a lesson for the technical staff of the Leopards of the DRC.
The DRC national football team will have to improve its structure in order to play well and leave traces during the final phase of the Moroccan CAN.
