Here we are, the first snows of winter are announced in Burgundy by Météo France. From this Thursday, November 21, the region should experience its first snowflakes. But watch out for the wind, the four departments are placed on yellow alert.

The first snowflakes should appear in Burgundy. Temperatures will drop from Wednesday, with the mercury reaching 0 degrees and below.
Although this Tuesday is subject to persistent rain, temperatures are still relatively mild in Burgundy. Between 11 and 13 degrees are recorded during the day. Particular attention will need to be paid to the wind, particularly at the end of the day. The four departments are placed on yellow alert this Tuesday.
On the other hand, Wednesday will mark the first winter-like day. The mercury will drop and will not exceed 5 degrees in the plains and will be around 0 in the heights the rest of the day. Météo France predicts showers at the end of the day which could even turn into snow at high altitudes in Burgundy.
On Thursday morning, only the north of Nièvre, near Varzy should be able to see a few particles of snow according to Météo France. In the afternoon, however, all four departments will be affected by this snowy episode. Rain will be added to the equation, particularly in Saône-et-Loire and in the west of Nièvre.

Vigilance will be required as the precipitation will continue into the evening and night. With temperatures hovering around freezing, it is possible to see the appearance of ice on the roads.
