Final chapter for Morgane and Karadec from HPI
A few weeks after the end of the fourth season, Audrey Fleurot and Mehdi Nebbou resume their iconic roles this Monday, November 18 in the North. The series reveals that Morgane will start this new season on new bases. “Morgana's efforts to improve her karma finally paid off: Karadec turned out to be the father of her baby as she hoped and, while she lost her home again, he graciously agreed to take her in.” , details the TF1 press release.
But the balance will be short-lived. “If Morgane is good at chaos, insecurity and adversity, she is much less good at happiness and simplicity”, warns the channel. An additional element of tension could interfere: a possible love story. “But trying a love story when we are already co-parents, colleagues and roommates… Is it a genius idea? Or a great way to screw everything up?”
HPI withdraws its reverence
Contrary to what some might think, this conclusion is not dictated by a drop in audience, but by an assumed artistic choice. Mehdi Nebbou expressed it clearly: “We would like it to end on top, with panache and fantasy, rather than it being diluted over time. It would be a shame for a unique series that pleases so much and which we also like to do one season too many with the risk that it becomes watered down or that it becomes downright reheated.”
HPI : the phenomena!
Launched in spring 2021 in the middle of a period of confinement, HPI quickly won the hearts of viewers. With a peak of 10.5 million spectators for the third episode of season 1, the series has become a true audiovisual phenomenon. And even got its American adaptation!
Morgane Alvaro, a former cleaning lady with an IQ of 160 who became a consultant at the DNPJ in Lille, has definitively changed the landscape of French detective series.
This fifth season promises to be a conclusion worthy of the phenomenal success of HPI : 8 episodes of 52 minutes which should satisfy the millions of fans of the series.
